Almond Flour
I’d like to make my own almond flour instead of buying it. Should I use raw almonds with the brown skins still on or blanched almonds? Just grind them in a food processor?
You may use either, depending on what the recipe calls for but normally ground almonds aka almond flour and almond meal is made with blanched (skinned) almonds. In a food processor you can make a decent imitation of almond flour that’s ground in a factory but it won’t be as fine. Just be sure that the almonds are at room temperature especially if you’ve had them stored in the freezer and use a pulsing motion with the food processor.
